Jos, Plateau State – In a move to restore peace and order, the Plateau State Police Command conducted an intelligence-led raid on February 24, 2026, at several identified flashpoints across the State.
The operation, which began at approximately 11:05 PM, led to the arrest of 27 male suspects in the Alheri, Apata, Busa-buji, and Angwan Suya areas. A significant recovery of dry leaves, suspected to be Indian Hemp, was made from the suspects, and they are now under ongoing profiling and investigation.
Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Bassey Ewah, psc(++), FCAI, MSPSP, issued a stern warning to any individual or group intending to cause unrest in the State, emphasizing that the Police would take decisive action against anyone found guilty.
“We will not tolerate any attempts to destabilize the peace in Plateau. Our operational and intelligence assets are fully mobilized to maintain law and order,” CP Ewah said.
The Police have appealed to the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing timely information. “If you see something, say something,” the Police urged.
