<strong>As the political atmosphere continue to recharge ahead of the 2027 general elections all eyes are on aspirants vying for various political positions most especially Governors that are serving their last tenure and wanting to be Senators.
Bauchi state Governor, Bala Mohammed is amongst the Governors that their tenure would end on the 29th May, 2027 and since he decided to dropped his presidential ambition, his political loyalists and supporters have been calling on him to return to the Red chamber having been a Senator in the Year 2007.
After his defection from the People’s Democratic party PDP to the ALLIED PEOPLE’S MOVEMENT APM, Governor Bala Mohammed on Thursday the 7th of May, 2027 picked up the nomination and Express of interest form to contest the Senate Seat under the platform of the APM to represent the good people of Bauchi South senatorial district.
The question however remains ” CAN HE ( GOVERNOR BALA MOHAMMED) BREAKS THE POLITICAL JINX?” as his predecessors such as former Governors Dr Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu (1999 to 2007) and Mal Isa Yuguda 2007 to 2015) all attempted to represent the good people of Bauchi South senatorial district in the red chamber after completing their tenures but were defeated
Bauchi South senatorial district has seven local government areas with the highest number of voters in Bauchi state but the zone remains the most very complicated zones in the political history of Bauchi state and Nigeria.
GOVERNOR BALA MOHAMMED’S ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES.
Governor Bala Mohammed defeated former Governor Dr Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu in 2007 to became the Senator representing Bauchi South senatorial district despite the power of incumbency Dr Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu had at the time. While this and other positions held such as the second longest serving Minister of the FCT and two term Governor of Bauchi state may serve as an added advantage to Governor Bala Mohammed who has a typical scenario and tactics on how to win his Senate seat, it is a signal for him at the same time that the power of incumbency could hardly count or played out in his quest to return to the Senate.

Moreso, Governor Bala Mohammed is a grassroot politician and can use his political arsenals to galvanize support for his election to the state couples with the many developmental projects he executed in the last seven years of his administration, but the question still remains who would trust worthily work for him to actualise his ambition amidst rising betrayals and political disappointment associated with ” END OF TENURE SYNDROME”
While parsuing his Senatorial Ambition, Governor Bala Mohammed has another big ambition to parsue which is ensuring that he produces a successor that would take over from him and continue with the good works. It is of course a serious distraction.
Another Major set back for His Excellency Sen Bala Mohammed to re represent the good people of Bauchi South senatorial district in the Senate is the new political party he adopted the ALLIED PEOPLE’S MOVEMENT APM which is of course new and giving the very poor political awareness of the people most especially at the grassroots, it may affects his chances of winning the Senate seat except and unless rigorous awareness campaign on the new political party is intensified across the nooks and crannies of senatorial district.
The political competitive nature of the Bauchi South senatorial district where the endless names of aspirants vying for the same seat most especially from the ruling All progressives Congress APC is also another serious threat for Governor Bala Mohammed to break the political jinx in Bauchi South senatorial district.
Leadership however they say comes from God and if God has destined that Governor Bala Mohammed would return to the Red chamber after the completion of his tenure, no amount of pressure, forces or political trechery can stop that, but the general concensus remains that he must work hard and work with trusted politicians in the zone, deploy his Arsenals to be able to break the political jinx in BAUCHI SOUTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT ”
