The Plateau State Government has approved the removal of several political appointees as part of efforts to reposition governance for improved efficiency and service delivery.
In a press release issued on March 17, 2026, the Secretary to the State Government, Samuel N. Jatau, announced that the decision was approved by Governor Caleb Mutfwang.
According to the statement, those affected include Hon. Timothy Golu, Rt. Hon. Gwottson Fom, Hon. Nanbol Rimvyat, Hon. Nannim J. Langyi, Hon. Paul N. Datugum, and Hon. Nimchak Rims. They previously served in various capacities, including Strategic Communications and Liaison roles across Jos South, Langtang North, Qua’an Pan North, and Langtang South.
The government said the move is part of ongoing efforts to align its operations with strategic priorities and enhance public service delivery.

In a related development, Governor Mutfwang also approved the suspension of Johnbull Shekarau as Chairman of the Plateau State House of Assembly Service Commission. The suspension was attributed to alleged conduct inconsistent with the expected administrative standards of the office. The matter is currently under review.
The affected appointees have been directed to immediately hand over all government property and official documents in their possession to the appropriate authorities.
