The All Progressives Congress (APC), Plateau State chapter, has condemned the renewed wave of violence in parts of the state, describing the attacks as disturbing and a serious threat to peaceful coexistence.
In a press statement issued on February 25, 2026, and signed by its Acting Publicity Secretary, Shittu Bamaiyi, the party expressed concern over the recent loss of innocent lives following attacks by suspected terrorists, particularly in Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas.
The APC stated that the renewed violence is not only worrisome and condemnable but also capable of undermining ongoing peace-building efforts by the state government. The party noted that while government initiatives aimed at consolidating peace are yielding results, some miscreants appear determined to frustrate those efforts.
Describing the development as unfortunate, the party called for concerted action against the perpetrators, warning that their activities are aimed at sowing division and disunity across the state.
The APC urged communities and individuals to support government and security agencies with credible intelligence to effectively confront the terrorists.
The party also appealed to both Christians and Muslims to use the ongoing fasting and Lenten seasons to pray for lasting peace and stability in Plateau State.
Furthermore, the APC extended its condolences to the Aten nation in Riyom Local Government Area over the killing of some of its members in Woro district of Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Zenith Media reports that security agencies have continued efforts to restore calm in the affected areas.
