In a tragic turn of events, three individuals have been confirmed dead following a violent bandit attack on Garga community in Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau State on the evening of 16th February 2026.
The assailants, heavily armed and ruthless, stormed the community with deadly intent. Reports indicate that they opened fire on residents, killing some immediately and leaving others severely wounded. The bandits also engaged in cattle rustling, making off with a significant number of livestock, further exacerbating the distress of the local population.
In addition to the gunfire and theft, the attackers are believed to have abducted several individuals during the raid, leaving many families in turmoil. Though initial reports indicated casualties at the scene, the death toll has since risen to three, including victims who succumbed to injuries sustained during the attack.
The injured have been rushed to the General Hospital in Dengi and surrounding medical facilities, where they are receiving treatment. Authorities have not disclosed the identities of the victims at this time.
