The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed relief materials to victims of the 2025 fire and windstorm disasters in Chanchaga Federal Constituency of Niger State.
The exercise, carried out by the NEMA Minna Operations Office on March 14, 2026, took place in Minna in collaboration with the lawmaker representing Chanchaga Federal Constituency, Abubakar Abdul Buba.

Speaking at the event, the Head of Operations of NEMA Minna Office, Mr. Hussaini Isah, represented by Dr. Zainab A. Ndanusa, said the intervention was aimed at cushioning the impact of the disasters on affected communities. He urged beneficiaries to make proper use of the items provided by the Federal Government through NEMA.
In his remarks, Hon. Abubakar Abdul Buba appreciated the Director-General of NEMA, Zubaida Umar, for the timely support and assured that the relief materials would be fairly distributed to those affected.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Hon. Aliyu Halidu, commended NEMA’s efforts and called for sustained collaboration with stakeholders to address humanitarian challenges.
Items distributed included 25kg bags of rice and maize, cartons of spaghetti, vegetable oil, seasoning cubes, tomato paste, and iodised salt.
The distribution exercise was witnessed by representatives of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, vigilante groups, community leaders, and affected residents.
