Armed bandits, whose identities remain unknown, launched an attack on Dorawan Babuje village in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State last night. The assailants killed nine people at a recreational area in the village.
This attack follows the recent killing of three Fulani youths in Jong village, also within the Dorawan Babuje vicinity, last week. The youths had been returning from a Ramadan prayer session when they were ambushed and murdered.
The violence has heightened tensions in the region, which has already been grappling with security challenges.
