Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have continued their relentless and determined offensive against terrorist elements within SUBUBU Forest, demonstrating resolve in the ongoing campaign to eradicate criminal enclaves.

Troops of Sector 2,8 Division, while advancing into identified terrorist hideouts engaged hostile elements in INDULUMU and RUDUNO villages, decisively neutralizing several terrorists during fierce encounters. In the course of the operations, the gallant troops recovered 2 x AK-47 rifles, 1 magazine loaded with 28 rounds of ammunition, and a pair of woodland camouflage uniforms, while 2 x Motorcycles used by the terrorists for movement and attacks were destroyed on the spot.

Maintaining operational momentum, the troops conducted extensive exploitation of the forest, uncovering and destroying several terrorist camps and life-support structures, significantly degrading the terrorists’ logistical capabilities.
In a notable move, the troops successfully rescued a 13-year-old kidnapped victim, Halira Ibrahim, reaffirming their unwavering commitment to protecting innocent citizens. Operation FANSAN YAMMA remains resolute and unyielding in its drive to deny terrorists safe haven and restore lasting peace and security across the North West region.
