The Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board (PSUBEB) has announced the immediate closure of all basic schools across the state as a precautionary measure.
According to the directive, Government Junior Model Secondary Schools (GJMSSs) are to shut down effective Saturday, 22 November 2025, while primary and day schools will close on Monday, 24 November 2025.
PSUBEB says the decision reflects an urgent need for preventive action in order to safeguard pupils, staff, and school communities.
The Board assured parents, guardians, and stakeholders that the closure is temporary but necessary to avert potential threats and reinforce confidence that the government is prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of learners.
The Board also urged Local Government Education Authorities, school administrators, and community leaders to fully comply with the directive and maintain high levels of vigilance.
The statement was signed by the Management of the Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board on 21 November 2025.
